I love these moments when you come across a word in an ancient language and think: Wait, that’s what it sounds in my language, too! 🙂
Today I came across the ancient Greek word δηλητήρ (dêlêtêr). Guess what it means 🙂

Another example is Coptic ϣⲉⲩⲛⲓ (sheune), in Middle Egyptian šnw.t (shenut) = English “barn”. In German, “barn” is “Scheune”, almost identical to the Coptic pronunciation 🙂
