Online Ressource: The Ancient Egyptian God Bes – Fighter, Dancer, Companion

This is a wonderful article by Kyle Jordan from the Ashmolean Museum. It comprises a well written overview of the god Bes and provides some great photographs, among thhem a rare attestation of Bes nursing a Horus, a miniature (!)  limestone stela of Bes the Fighter, a bottle in the shape of a Bes head, Bes as a Roman soldier, a mould for creating an amulet of Bes holding a tambourine and a necklace of Carnelian ball beads separating faience amulets of Bes heads.

I really wished someone would recreate those ancient artefacts and jewellery! I would totally love and wear an amulet of Bes holding a tambourine!
