In this video we will take a closer look at the ancient Greek magical papyrus scroll which comprises the most extensive ritual collection among the Greek magical papyri. It contains more than 50 ritual instructions, accompanied by information about the best times for their performance, a prayer to Selêne, and an extensive dice-based Homer oracle.
The scroll was found in Egypt and is dated to the third or fourth century. In modern scholarship it is referred to as “PGM VII”.
